missing my appendages

Although I have been relishing all the free time I have had these past two weeks, being free to o whatever one wants makes one REALLY tired. With no daily routine (feeding, washing, trying to keep preoccupied and generally controlling two little kids) to follow, I have been sleeping at all hours and not enough either. Sometimes I feel really listless and think about what work I could be doing now that I have time, but usually I get a hold of myself and tell myself if I don't take time for myself now, I'll be a misery to all and sundry! So I have been dutifully avoiding being anything but busy (for the sake of others of course).

Having been a stay at home mum for about 6 months, I was very, very glad to pack the kids off to my mother's for a few weeks, and although hubby boo has been pining like a sad little puppy over their absence, I have been slowly regaining some semblance of self after the past few months being in total surrender to two little grubby sets of cheeks. When they finally do come home, I won't have the small mercies that sending them to school offers, so it will be an intense couple of weeks being a good mummy till they go back to school!

Still, today I was looking through all my photos and marvelling at how powerfully cute and charismatic they are! Baby One was born to model, as you will see in the following photos. Baby Two knows the meaning of "fierce" when it comes to working it for the camera.

They will be back late next week, and I still haven't gotten round to cleaning out all the accummulated junk they have acquired during the year. If I do it while they are away, they may not remember it when they come back and I will not have to make up some hogwash about it being "somewhere, just keep looking for it".

You have gorgeous babies (very generous coming from me who only thinks my daughter is the cutest in the world - ever!)

I didn't realise your second is still so young. Anyway, is that a birth mark or a scar on her forehead?

Thank you!. those are actually old pictures, she's much older now. yes, she was born with a red mark on her forehead, like a thunderbolt.

Birthmarks are good and bring luck.

The reason I noticed and made a comment is because my daughter had a bad scrape with a cat recently. She has a long scar on her forehead right in the middle. So now if I see any child with a mark on their forehead, I ask questions like a mak sebok! Apologies if I offended you by asking about it.

Back to my story, I used Mederma when the wound closed and it's slowly fading now. I hope by the time my girl goes to school the scar will not be noticeable.

mine has been asking me about her mark and I keep telling her it's because she's special, like harry potter...

aidareza: my turn to be a pak sebok :P i have a scar on my forehead as a result of my curiousity with a plastic ornament on the car door when i was two years old, which turned out to be the handle that opens it. i pulled it when the car was moving and as my parents, relatives and acquaintences mostly tell, it shows in my behavior these days.
