Oh, most prophetic of un-prophetic posts! Just after testing my linking skills on the previous two posts, the most lovely thing has happened! Hubby Boo got me an Apple for our wedding Anniversary.
He had spent the afternoon with the girls while I lounged about at home, sleeping off the previous day's post-all-night editing session. Later, over coffee while the girls played, he mentioned that he had gotten our Anniversary gift (which is on 24th October).
"Really? Aw! What is it?"
He remained characteristically and at that moment annoyingly silent.
"Well, you have to give it to me now," I said. He laughed. "You're just like the girls," he said.
"That's cruel, telling me now and then making me wait two weeks!"
After a couple of subtle prods, I gave up. He managed to give subtle hints about what he wanted to have for our Anniversary.
"The PS3 will be ready in November. If you starts saving now, you can book it right away."
Then, this morning when I got up and came to my old pioneer-issue titanium model, I noticed a couple of large packages sitting on the desk beside it.
A MacBook! Wireless Mouse! Office:Mac!
I don't think I've ever reacted so pleasurably to a thing! Although not quite as luscious a reaction as DJ's to his iPod. I suppose because so much of me is tied up in the kind of creative freedom my puter gives me - it's where I write and communicate and create - that having a brand spanking new one absolutely ROCKS MY WORLD! I'm smiling like a chipmunk with its cheeks stuffed full with nuts!
So this will be my last post on my old Tit, after which it shall become the property of my kids, who shall no doubt continue to fight over it for at least another decade. My gratitude to hubby boo is immeasurable.
So I open the beautiful white cake-box and find layers upon layers of industrial design and engineering at its best, from the first styrofoam lattice protector, to the cords lovingly carressed with clear plastic to the Book itself, snug in its paper-tissue case, and underneath, a neat silver package containing CDs and instructions. I can't bear to throw any of it away!
So if you don't hear from me for a while, fear not, I shall be back soon. Just let me have my time alone with Mac!

i was jonesing over the macs at machines in mid valley just now (thank god for ramadhan restraint. otherwise, i would've made some mess there. moving right along now...) and now i hear you already got one yourself courtesy of hubby boo as an anniversary present. how cute! now i wish i'll get to marry a geek myself (any of these would do fine too). as you may have been aware from the ipod episode, it'll easily double the pleasure! *grin*
happy anniversary to the both of you. here's wishing many more good years (and macs) ahead for the two of you! :)
