Kota Kinabalu has changed, some for the better, some for the worse. One of the better changes (since my last visit, ooo, six or more years ago) is Little Italy.
Located under the Capital Hotel, on Jalan Tun Razak opposite Wisma Merdeka (close to Hyatt Hotel and the docks and markets), it's a family and tourist-friendly place with great food and free wi-fi. I took my girls there for lunch. We ordered a half and half pizza, the pasta combo (you can choose two or three different pastas, including different kinds of ravioli, and different kinds of sauces), garlic bread and drinks for just under RM80. It's a little pricey compared to stall food, but it is a restaurant and the food is worth it.
Exhibit A:
Diavola and Margherita pizza (half and half) beautiful mozarella and lovely tomato sauce - can taste the basil and oregano)
2-pasta combo: spinach and ricotta ravioli with four-cheese sauce, and mushroom ravioli with emiliana sauce (a mix of bolognese and alfredo/cheese sauce - dreamy, yummy creamy)
Happy cheeks:
